Do you like Red Velvet Cake? If you don't live in the South, maybe I should first ask if you have ever had it. I was introduced to Red Velvet Cake when I moved to Atlanta. It is one of my husband's favorites. Red cake with a subtle flavor that's hard to put your finger on...maybe mildly chocolate...layered with cream cheese icing. Interesting and a little confusing. Why is it red? What do you put in something to make it only kind of taste like chocolate? I now have the answers to my questions. Red Velvet Oreo Cheesecake to celebrate his new job. He found the recipe online a few days ago and said, "Mmmmmm...doesn't this sound goooooood?" That was my cue. It was fun to make and turned out pretty well if I do say so myself. Must have been my cute little sous chef :)
