Happy Mother's Day

This was Brock and my first Mother's Day together unless you count last year when I was pregnant...which I kind of did but it felt like cheating :) 

 

Doggie Door

We knew it was only a matter of time before he figured this out.

Once he learned how to lift the flap, I knew it wouldn't be long. I ran to get my camera so I could record his first time going through, but by the time I got back in the room he was already OUTSIDE. Sneaky little thing!

The Old Spaghetti Factory

One of my favorite restaurants is The Old Spaghetti Factory. I haven't lived close to one in 12 years so whenever I come home, I have to go. They are usually in old warehouses and decorated in classic railroad paraphernalia with tables inside train cars. Every meal comes with warm sourdough bread, salad, and spumoni ice cream for dessert in a tiny silver cup. This was Brock's first time, and he got to taste the best thing on the menu: Spaghetti with Browned Butter and Mizithra Cheese. Delish :)

A Plastic Tub

It's true that kids sometimes like the boxes things come in more than the things themselves. Or in this case, its a plastic tub for his refrigerator magnet letters.

Finger Painting

I never get tired of watching him finger paint. He made some beautiful Mother's Day presents for my mom and grandma, and I snagged one, too :) Here's an easy recipe:

1/2 cup cornstarch

2 cups water

Cook over medium heat until thickened

Remove from heat and allow to cool

Add food coloring
