I had to take an updated picture of him in the Moby. I've gone back to using it because as he gets heavier, this thing distributes his weight much better over my shoulders, back, and hips than the other carrier we have. So comfy! That and I feel like he looks stuck to my body in a weird sort of way. Makes me laugh.

Bubble Boy
I have been feeling quite resourceful lately. We wanted to have some fun with bubbles, but I didn't have one of those little bottles of bubbles, so we made our own. I had some wired ribbon from Christmas, so I stripped the ribbon off, twisted the wire into a loop, and dipped it into some dish soap. Brock had fun watching, reaching, and seeing the bubbles pop. I was just as entertained (maybe more so) by trying to make my little make-shift bubble wand work. I think I've got it down :)

Playmates
Big news for this week: Brock has a new little pal. A friend of ours just had a baby and is heading back to work, so her little guy will be spending the days with us. Brock was pretty excited to have a friend over. He laughed, talked to, held hands, and petted his little amigo's head. Baby J is just 11 weeks old, so there is not much reciprocation yet, but I'm sure it will come in time. For now, the relationship may be a bit one sided, but I don't think Brock minds :)

Brock-casso
My mom says Brock needs "messy art" time. He'll have fun feeling different textures and maybe it will encourage a bit of creativity. She suggested chocolate pudding as a good first medium. Well, we didn't have any chocolate pudding, so I got a little creative myself. Rice cereal sweetened with a tinge of fruit juice and a few drops of food coloring. Voila! A pallet of food paint for my little artist.

Laughing with Mimi
It seems Brock always has a smile on his face. He goes through most of the day laughing. Sometimes he gets himself chuckling about whatever a six-month-old finds funny, and sometimes he gets a little help. He and his Mimi shared a few giggles the other day at the beach house :)

Beach Bum
We took a family trip to the beach last weekend. My grandparents have been visiting our neck of the woods for the past month, and on their way back to the West Coast, they treated us and my uncle and cousins to a few days at a beach house. This was Brock's first time at the beach, and boy was it fun!
So this is that ocean sound my sleep sheep makes, huh? |

Three Course Meal
We are going through a major transition in Brock's culinary journey. We are officially moving to a meal schedule that includes a variety of solid foods three times per day. Gone are the days of occasional banana bites and pear purees. We're talking breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. This was his first real lunch which included oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and fruit. Mmmmmmm :) Our boy likes to eat!
