Twinkle Toes

Brock likes to bounce. I suppose he's been conditioned by the Jumperoo and Johnny Jump-Up. Grams works the same way, right?

First Christmas Card

Grandpa Tom sent us a little holiday cheer a few days ago...Brock's first Christmas card. Did I write that down on his first year calendar? Mental note. Brock was happy to get a treat. Apparently it tasted pretty good, too.

Brusha, Brusha, Brusha

We are always looking for something new to do around here. I stumbled upon his "health and grooming kit" the other day and realized we hadn't tried out his hair brush or toothbrush yet. He has good hair. He has no teeth, but they say its never too early to get them used to a toothbrush, and a little brushing of the gums is actually good to keep their little mouths clean. Since he likes to put everything in his mouth, he makes it look like he knows what to do with the toothbrush :)
This is interesting...
He kept himself entertained by clanging this glass candle holder. Probably not the best decorative choice for a child's bathroom.

Thanks, Mom, for my very first toothbrush.

No cavities for me!

Not to brag, but I'm kind of a pro at this.

First Time in the Bathtub

The kitchen sink is where Brock typically gets a bath...it's just the right size and mommy doesn't have to sit on her knees and bend over the tub. Wow, I sound really old. But this day we decided some playtime in the water would be fun. So.....
Look at all your squirty animals, Baby!
Chewing on washcloths must feel good on the gums. I think this was his favorite part.

A Day at the Museum

My hubby had the day off the other day, so we took a (free) family trip to the museum. There are a lot of things to do around here.  I want to do them all, and I will because I now have a pint-sized excuse. We're in for lots of adventures, Brock!
Pause for a picture, boys!

Now a close-up. I'm going to be obnoxious about this.

Heading in now. Don't they both look excited?

Wow, a mastodon!
Look at those huge wheels!
There's an awesome room at the museum called "Grandma's Attic". The stuff isn't part of any exhibit, just fun for kids to explore. Check it out.
An old typewriter! You'll probably never use one unless you get a job in Mississippi.

Oooh, a horsey!!

Granny sent us"Good Night Seattle" from this same series. Had to take a pic.

Brock, your Aunt Ginny wore one of these :)
Now back downstairs for more serious history...
Steam Boat Captains!
The special exhibit was about films made in Florida. Brock's great grandpa was an extra in this one!
That's the cutest Creature From the Black Lagoon I've ever seen!

High Chair!

We put together Brock's high chair! It is a perfect spot to sample new cuisine and play with toys on the tray. What a big boy!!

I'll take those, thank you.
Waste not, want not. Let me make sure I get it all off my fingers.
His first time at the table with us for family dinner :)

Mmmm, crackers. I'm sure that's just what he was craving that night.

Balancing Act

Some more sitting...he's getting better all the time :) Sorry this is such a dark picture.
