Where Did My Hair Go?
Babies lose the hair they are born with. It's just one of the many things I have learned in the past three months. The baby hair gradually falls out and then new hair grows in. I had no idea. Brock was born with a head full of dark dark brown hair. All the nurses commented on his beautiful hair in the hospital. Jason made lots of jokes about how his son already had more hair than his daddy. And then it started falling out. It is being replaced with slightly lighter hair...a bit more of a blend of Jason and me since I was completely blond as a little girl. Anyway, the back of his little head just cracks me up right now. The only part that still has all his newborn hair is the very back, and I fear we may have a baby mullet on our hands before long. Business in the front, party in the back!

Heritage Quilt
One very special gift Brock received when he was born was given to him by our dear friend Donna. It is called a heritage quilt. You collect garments from baby's family members...mom, dad, grandparents, aunts and uncles. They can be anything...shirts, pants, dresses (we even added one of my own baby outfits and some hand embroidered dish towels from my mom and Mimi). Then you make a quilt out of all the pieces. You put a book together with the scraps of fabric and put all the family members' pictures next to their fabric so baby will know which pieces came from which person. A lot of times, they are made baby size, but Donna made ours extra special, and it is big enough for a full size bed so Brock can use it even when he grows up. We love our heritage quilt! It is on the guest bed in the nursery so we can look at it every day and remember how many people love this little boy!

Funny Faces
He is so entertaining. Get yourself a baby and video camera and you are sure to be in for hours of laughs. I love this boy.

Foot, Foot, Feet!
I have loved my baby's feet ever since I first laid eyes on them at his 20 week ultrasound. They are his daddy's feet in miniature, and I could tell when he showed us his little footprint in the womb. There is just something about babies' feet. They are so soft. Their little toes are so tiny. And they don't even stink. I have to kiss them about 20 times a day. I've turned this into a game and it always puts a smile on Brock's face. "Foot, Foot, Feet!" Check out the video at the bottom :)

Size What?!
My mom is an excellent shopper. Whenever anyone compliments an outfit I have on, my response is almost always, "Thanks, my mom (or my Mimi) got it for me." Ever since I moved out of the house at age seventeen, I can count on cute outfits in the mail for birthdays, Christmas, and even Easter! She started stocking me up on maternity clothes as soon as I found out I was pregnant. She even gives me things from her own closet if she thinks I'll like them. Well, this week I got a package from her, and it had 6 pairs of her old pants. Guess what size they were? I'm not telling you, but I will say they were three sizes bigger than I used to wear. And they were all too big for her. That's right. My mother cleaned out her closet and gave me stuff that she can't fit into because it's too BIG. Oh geez. I could just hear my old jeans calling to me from the closet as I thought about wearing them again. "Oh please, Honey", they said. "Not even close". Thanks, Mom, for keeping me in style--through thick and thin :)
