Pin Impressions

A sweet little boy gave us this toy at a garage sale the other day. The boy was about 9 years old. He was playing with the toy, and Brock asked for a turn. The boy gave the toy to Brock. A few minutes later, he asked us if we were going to buy it. I said no and we gave it back to him so he could buy it and take it home. Brock gave the toy back to the boy nicely. On our way out, Brock told me he wanted that toy. The boy overheard him. The boy took the toy all the way to his car and then turned around and came back to us and told Brock he could have the toy instead. Melt my heart.  

Making Tacos

Dinner can be a challenge at times. Brock loves to play and it's usually hard to get him to come to the table. I thought maybe if we could get him involved in preparing the food, he might have more of a vested interest in eating it. So we did a taco bar and let him make all of our tacos. It worked! And he's pretty good at it :)

Who Let the Dogs Out?

This is one of my favorite moments in a long time. We attracted a few crowds and amused quite a few Walmart employees. These toy dogs were dancing and singing, "Who let the Dogs Out". Perfection.

Vacuuming the Car

Here's Brock at the activity pool getting some of the yells out of his system. There's a little waterfall that the noise bounces off of...pretty neat discovery :)

We were exploring outside one day and found lots of caterpillars. Here he is playing with them :)

Diving Board

Brock discovered the fun of the diving board the other day. Here are a few videos of him in action. He definitely abandoned all his pre-school peers in the shallow end in favor of hanging out with the big kids. I love my fearless little boy :)

Florida frogs quack

Being from the Northwest, I was very confused when I moved to Florida and learned that the quacking noises I hear outside at night are not ducks but are actually frogs. What??!! Brock is coming to terms with this confusing truth as well.

We've been buying decorations for Brock's birthday party coming up. He really wants to blow up this balloon...

Library Cushion Jumping

I love how Brock makes friends so easily. He'll get right in there with anyone and strike up a conversation or start playing. He made some new friends at the library the other day and they made up their own fun game.

This is an old Sunday School song that Brock has learned at church. I didn't know he knew it so well :) He's very confident about his lyrics, too. Love this.

Backyard Water Fun

Brin came over the other day for a water play date in the back yard. They took turns holding the hose and then Brock did some belly floppin'!

Playing with Puppies

We went to a farmer's market the other day and some people brought two little dogs that Brock had a great time playing with. Definitely a dog person.

Okay, here he goes. He is fearless with his floaty vest. It's pretty fun to watch him jump in :)

Swimming in the Big Pool

Here's our little swimmer! He donned his floaty vest and swam all over the big pool like a fish. I'll have to get some more videos--these don't do it justice. He was jumping in the water all by himself, going under water, and swim, swim, swimming! We were at the pool for 2 1/2 hours this day. He fell asleep in the car at 6 pm and was down for the night :)

Happy Birthday Excitement

 had a little surprise party for our friend the other day and we had 5 kiddos between us. When it was time to sing, "Happy Birthday" and eat cupcakes, there was some major excitement!!

Hey Watch This

After we pick blueberries, we go play at the river. Amazing, right? Brock had so much fun splashing around in the water. And he wanted to make sure everyone was paying attention.

Ice Age

It's always fun to get a package in the mail from Granny. You never know what kind of fun surprises there might be. For some reason, he was really expecting a toy snake this time, but instead it was a 4 pack of the Ice Age movies! Score!!!! Thanks, Granny :)

More Big Swing!

This is the second time we've been over to our friends' new house with their giant swing. I must say, Brock is the bravest little guy in the bunch. He gets right on with the big boys with no fear whatsoever. Such fun!

Doggy Needs a Burger

Our friends who had the cookout have a big huge doggy that Brock fell in love with. He was super excited that he got to feed the doggy a burger!

Slip 'n Slide

Our friends had a super fun cook out and there was a slip 'n slide for the kids along with water guns, a kiddie pool, and a giant swing!

This is a super cool robot that Grandpa Tom got Brock for Christmas. It's lots of fun. It went everywhere with us today :)

Blowing Bubbles Under Water

Brock has been a little hesitant about getting in "big water" so far this summer. This has had me worried because we signed him up for swimming lessons coming up in a few months. I was super excited when we went to the lake and he went under all by himself :)

Memorial Day

We had such fun on Memorial Day! We went to the Springs and played, played, played all day long. So cool and refreshing on a hot Florida day!

Activity Pool

We got invited to the coolest birthday party!! It was for a good friend of Brock's who "donated" his birthday to help his aunt and uncle raise money to adopt his new baby cousin. So sweet. They rented out a local pool for the party. So fun!!!!

Cousins

We got together with the cousins over the weekend. I'm not sure how, but Brock always seems to be the lone man among a group of pretty little ladies :)

Cleaning the house is so much fun with a cute little helper. Brock loves wielding a squirt bottle!

This is a fun game. An oldie but a goody we rediscovered the other day.

Movie Box from Granny

My mom is so great!! She mailed us a huge box of our old Disney movies the other day so we can pass them along to Brock. We are using an old school VCR and VHS tapes that Brock is learning to master. A little behind the times, but it's good fun :)

Splash Park Fountain

Here are a few videos of Brock at the splash park. In one, he is standing on the outside of a circle of big kids who are gathered around the big central fountain. The fountains are on a timer, and all the kids were getting excited anticipating the big splash of the big fountain about to come on. Although Brock couldn't see through the crowd, he could tell he was supposed to be excited, and man did he show it!

Blowing a Feather

Brock has discovered the feathers in our down pillows. Endless fun. He took one to bed for two days in a row and all I could hear through the monitor were blowing sounds...forever.

Peas and Chee

Here's a cute little thing that Brock says and I can't remember if I've told you about it before. When he wants one piece of cheese, he calls it a "chee". Oh my goodness. Could he be any cuter? Love him.

Squirrel

Sometimes Brock likes to chase squirrels, or at least talk about chasing squirrels. Really, he would just really like it if they would come play with him. He's trying to use his power of persuasion to convince a squirrel to come down from a tree.

Singing and Playing Outside

Playing at the Library

Well, library time is supposed to be time to practice sitting and listening to stories, following directions, and singing songs, but that all seems to go out the window when Brock sees his buddies. Here he is with his good friend, Brin. These two have so much fun!

Swinging with the Big Boys

We went to a 6 year old's birthday party a few weeks ago, and Brock was one of the littlest friends there, but he didn't let that stop him from having a big time. Here he is swinging with the big boys. I didn't get all of it on video--they ended up swinging so high over a daddy's head and into the bushes, and Brock just held on tight and had the time of his life. Not one ounce of fear. I loved watching him :)

Oh the vacuum is so fun. Also, we got a new vacuum at a garage sale for $20. It is awesome :)

It was so fun to buy Brock his first umbrella. Rainy season is upon us and we will get lots of rain this summer, too. It was definitely time for a pair of rain boots and a Spiderman umbrella!
