Belly Flop
Here's another clip from his sandbox. He's taken to belly flopping right in the thing. Crazy child :)

Beep Beep the Car
He loves to get a hold of car keys and press the "lock" button so he can hear the horn honk. The sound is hard to pick up in the video, but he keeps pressing the button over and over again from inside the house to hear his Pa's truck honk. Pretty clever kiddo.

Sandbox
Mimi and Pop Pop sent us Christmas money to buy another outside toy. We picked a sandbox, and it has been a great purchase. He plays in it just about every day, and we he gets sand in every bodily crevice imaginable. His favorite sandbox activities include throwing sand over his head, belly flopping, plopping on his bottom, eating sand, and planting his face in it. He is all boy. I love it.

Pull Your Socks Off
When Brock is having a hard time doing something and starts to get frustrated and ask for help, I usually encourage him keep trying before I jump in and give a hand. I like it when he realizes he really can do things by himself that he didn't think he could. Here he is using all big muscles and grunting noises to pull his socks off.

Sock Monkey in the Box
A long time ago, he learned how to open this toy without twisting the lever on the side. Now he's got the coordination to do it the conventional way. Way to go!

Am-i-nal
Another new word. Not sure if he means "animal" or "Seminole", but Seminole is usually accompanied by the Chop, so we'll assume he means "animal" here.

(Cheeri) Yo
Another funny word it took me a long time to figure out. I couldn't understand why my child was always saying "yo". I have never said "yo" to him. An occasional " 'sup ", sure, but never "yo". But at last the light bulb came on. It all makes sense now.

Appashaws
Maybe a lot of my posts for a while will be about his funny little words. Applesauce is a good one. Every time I grab a jar from the fridge (no matter what it is) he begins a chorus of appashaws...appashaws....appashaws. Cutie patootie :) I love him.

Moses
He's learning the story of Moses and the burning bush and the Red Sea. Take a look :)

Hey Batter Batter
We're starting to work on our baseball skills. He's learning how to swing a bat and how to talk like a real ball player :) His Pa will be so proud!

Awful
My new favorite game is leaving out words when I read to him and seeing which ones he knows. He knows a lot! I love this one.

Heh Caw Caw
I need to create a dictionary to keep track of his funny words. Helicopter is a tough one. I think he's doing really great :)

"Y" is for "Yelling"
We're still hooked on our Dr. Seuss ABC book. Whenever I read the "Y" page, about a little girl yelling, I say "yelling" really loud...you know, so he will understand what yelling means. Today I paused right before the word "yelling", to see if he would fill in the blank, and to my surprise, he did it without hesitation and even used the appropriate volume.

Pancake Bubbles
Last week, we were making pancakes and I told Brock we had to wait until there were bubbles and then we could flip them over. Today, we were making another batch of pancakes and the first thing he said when I picked him up to see the pancakes in the frying pan was "Bubbles!" I was surprised he remembered that. What a smart little sous-chef!

Cookie Monster Voice
His first shot at doing an impression...pretty solid performance.

Say High Chair
It's hard to tell how long he's been trying to say "high chair" because it doesn't sound much like "high chair", and it just dawned on me that's what he's been trying to say. It's funny the words they come up with :)

Pretend Sleeping
He has started mimicking the pretend snoring I do when I read books where people are sleeping. Then today he curled up with a blanket on the floor and started "snoring". This was the first time I've seen him pretend. Every day there's something new. I love this baby.

I'm on TV
Brock loves to watch our home videos. He gets such a kick out of it and usually breaks out in belly laughs before long. He also responds to any directions I give him in the video. So if I say "Say 'Please'", you hear video Brock and real Brock say "please" in stereo. He was particularly tickled watching this one so I had to capture it for you. We had watched it about 5 times before I broke out the camera, but the thrill hadn't worn off yet.

Blocks
He got new blocks for Christmas. If you stack them by color in the right order, the pictures on one side make a puzzle. He is too little to figure that out and he always knocks the stacks over too quickly for me to get the puzzle together--which for some reason gives me this deep desire to finish it. He was busy playing with his refrigerator letters the other day and I put it together as fast as I could before he came running around the corner. Sweet victory. It's the little things. Here he is playing with the blocks his way :)

Backyard Slide
Yay for Granny for getting us a slide for the backyard. The more outside toys the better. This boy loves being outside :)

Zebra Hat
This is my favorite accessory right now. It just makes you smile when you look at it. He can say "hat" and he likes to take it off and put it back on by himself.

Opposites
We have a little book of opposites. It's one of Brock's favorites. Big and small. Happy and sad. Full and empty. Clean and dirty. That is the extent of the book. But there are cute pictures and I try to make funny voices when I read it, and he chooses that book a lot. It wasn't long before he started trying to say "opposites". It's getting clearer now and he started saying it without the book in front of him today.

Football Fan
I turned around his high chair after dinner and let him watch some football with Daddy. He's a good little fan :)
