He got a tigger for Christmas...kind of Hip Hop Tigger. I don't know who was more excited, Daddy or Brock. It was a hit.

Handy Man

He is really enjoying his tool set :) It's great for hand-eye coordination and overall manliness.

First Christmas Present

We had Christmas morning at our house before heading over to Grams' and Pa's this year. Here's Brock opening the first Christmas present of the day. This is the one he started to unwrap under the tree a few days before Christmas which we had to confiscate :)

Cookies and Milk

We made gingerbread men the other day. Here he is dunking one in milk. I taught him about milk and cookies the other day. He dips every bite of cookie in milk now. Cute :)

Early Christmas

I didn't think we'd have to worry about hiding Christmas presents this year being that our son is only 17 months old, but it appears I was mistaken. I walked out into the living room to see him standing on a present which had already been halfway opened. At least I can tell he likes it :) The rest of the presents are being moved to an undisclosed location.

Ankle Bracelet

As I believe I've mentioned, he's got a thing for putting things on his head. He also likes to try to put clothes on. Mine, his dad's, occasionally his own. Here we see him wearing his toys as well. I guess anything will do.

A Bug's Life

Down the Slide

This was the highlight of our trip to the mall. I was sitting on a bench watching him play and all of a sudden I see his little head pop up at the top of a slide. I went over to make sure he could get down the slide okay but it turns out he's about done needing my help with that. Big boy :)

Mall Playground

I try to avoid the mall at all costs. To my pleasant surprise, the mall has gotten a play area since the last time I've been. So much fun for Brock!

Costume Contest

We went to a Halloween Festival the weekend before Halloween with the cutest little puppy dog you ever did see. He entered his very first costume contest (but we couldn't beat our friends who dressed their 5 adopted children up as prisoners being towed in a jail wagon by their police dogs). We got to watch The Great Pumpkin on a big screen outside, and Brock got a lollipop. Such fun :)

You never know what this little boy is going to say. He's making so many sounds and repeating lots of things. Sometimes it comes out like mumbo jumbo and sometimes he come up with some actual words. Sometimes it's a little bit of both...

Gates Barbecue in Kansas City

Here was another stop on our Food Network tour. This place was also featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Apparently Kansas City barbecue is famous for it's "burnt ends". They take the crispy ends of the brisket and chop them up in sauce. It was amazing. The restaurant was fun too. You order cafeteria style and then you take your tray to the dining room. We had a personal attendant help us order. We walked in and she said, "You're new, huh?" She made sure they took good care of us, checked on us throughout dinner, and even posed for a picture with us. Loved her!

Climbing Stairs in Missouri

Brock's cross-country trip mainly consisted of a lot of playgrounds. Here we are in Missouri anticipating our stay in Kansas City and hoping for some awesome barbecue. Brock did some impressive climbing here.

Mt. Rushmore

I am so glad we got to see this. It's one of those places I've always felt obligated as an American to visit, but I was never planning on making a special trip. Good that it worked out to be on our route :) It really is a sight to behold. Looking at Mt. Rushmore is the first time Brock said the word "Wow".
