Tigger

He got a tigger for Christmas...kind of Hip Hop Tigger. I don't know who was more excited, Daddy or Brock. It was a hit.

Handy Man

He is really enjoying his tool set :) It's great for hand-eye coordination and overall manliness.

First Christmas Present

We had Christmas morning at our house before heading over to Grams' and Pa's this year. Here's Brock opening the first Christmas present of the day. This is the one he started to unwrap under the tree a few days before Christmas which we had to confiscate :)

No Singing, Please

I wasn't expecting this phenomenon to set in so early. Aren't they supposed to make it to middle school or at least late elementary before they start caring whether mom sings?

Cookies and Milk

We made gingerbread men the other day. Here he is dunking one in milk. I taught him about milk and cookies the other day. He dips every bite of cookie in milk now. Cute :)

Early Christmas

I didn't think we'd have to worry about hiding Christmas presents this year being that our son is only 17 months old, but it appears I was mistaken. I walked out into the living room to see him standing on a present which had already been halfway opened. At least I can tell he likes it :) The rest of the presents are being moved to an undisclosed location.

Ankle Bracelet

As I believe I've mentioned, he's got a thing for putting things on his head. He also likes to try to put clothes on. Mine, his dad's, occasionally his own. Here we see him wearing his toys as well. I guess anything will do.

A Bug's Life

He found his first bug. What an exciting day!

DOG Book

This is such a funny book he got from his Mimi. It's even funnier when he helps read it.

Santa Baby

He's adding to his vocabulary daily :)

Put Your Face in

He keeps finding new ways to amuse himself in the water. I think we're going to have a good swimmer on our hands. Definitely not afraid to get wet :)

Down the Slide

This was the highlight of our trip to the mall. I was sitting on a bench watching him play and all of a sudden I see his little head pop up at the top of a slide. I went over to make sure he could get down the slide okay but it turns out he's about done needing my help with that. Big boy :)

Mall Playground

I try to avoid the mall at all costs. To my pleasant surprise, the mall has gotten a play area since the last time I've been. So much fun for Brock!

Counting Cookies

Sometimes you need a cookie so bad it's hard to concentrate on anything else.

Elmo

A clear favorite and one of the handful of words he definitely knows and uses appropriately...

Playing in the Leaves

We have lots of leaves in our yard. It is fun to rake them up and watch Brock play in them :)

Shorty Spice

Here he is spicing up our counter :) Good times.

Grape

He can say "grape"! Well, kind of :)

Complete with a ball spike and moonwalk...how does he know this stuff?

Okay

He has started saying "okay" lately. I don't know why it is so hilarious, but it always makes me laugh.

Tinkle Toes

His feet are not only cute, but musical too. Who knew?

Cookie Monster

He loves to help me in the kitchen. This was the first day he stood on a chair at the kitchen counter and donned an apron and baker's hat. He is a great helper and loves to sample our fare. Sometimes the finished product is a little hard to wait for...

Kitchen Soldier

He looks like a little army guy. Again, he loves putting things on his head.

Diapers

I opened a sleeve of diapers the other day and started putting them away in the diaper stacker. He just had to get in on the fun. Here was the result.

Hmmm, nice design. Very effective.

Peek-a-boo

Ay ay ay...

Yes, mother?

Astronaut

Perhaps not the safest activity? I have committed to only allow this when I am sitting right here watching.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Daddy's Shoes

He likes putting shoes on. It doesn't matter whether they are his or not. This task can keep him entertained for quite a while :)

ABC's

He's got a few more letters down...maybe.

Veteran's Day Parade

He didn't want to hold the flag this year, so I don't have a pic that really captures the spirit of the event, but I still think they're cute. I love Veteran's Day, and I love this parade. Thank you to all those who have served our country.

Hello Baby Model...
Happy Veteran's Day!

Dizzy

Is it just me, or does 15 months seem early to start this spinning madness? He broke out spinning a few days ago. Not sure where he picked it up or if kids have instincts that tell them it's fun to get dizzy :)

These Crayons Don't Work

I'll take this off the internet when he's old enough to be embarrassed :)

"B"

This letter comes out clear as a bell. It's a good one to start with if your name is Brock.

Fun Feet

Brock learned that he can use his feet (or his dad's) to push buttons. Good to know.

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Pizza Pan Dance

I'm glad he is so easily entertained...and entertaining. Here he is having fun with bake ware while I attempt to clean the kitchen. In other news, our little man is 16 months old today!

Trick-or-Treat

On Halloweeen, we broke the puppy costume back out and went Trick-or-Treating with Grams in a big red wagon :) Aunt Ashley stopped by to join in the fun!

I'm ready!!

Trick-or-treat :)

Costume Contest

We went to a Halloween Festival the weekend before Halloween with the cutest little puppy dog you ever did see. He entered his very first costume contest (but we couldn't beat our friends who dressed their 5 adopted children up as prisoners being towed in a jail wagon by their police dogs). We got to watch The Great Pumpkin on a big screen outside, and Brock got a lollipop. Such fun :)

Say "Kibble!" and smile for the judges

Movie time. Line up the strollers!

Bite Chew Bobby

You never know what this little boy is going to say. He's making so many sounds and repeating lots of things. Sometimes it comes out like mumbo jumbo and sometimes he come up with some actual words. Sometimes it's a little bit of both...

Turning on the Lamp

On and off,..on and off...on and off. He loves pushing buttons and doing things over and over. This lamp has a button on the floor. Perfect for our little guy :)

Water on My Head

It's no wonder he has been putting his own face in the swimming pool since before his first birthday. Here's a new trick that's super entertaining in the bathtub or the backyard.

Jump

You know how when you're showing a kid how to jump you sort of bend your knees first to exaggerate?

Friday, November 2, 2012

Our Neighbor's Dog

This has been less of an issue since we took this video. Either way, I don't think Brock minds having a neighbor he can bark at.

Ranch Dressing

This boy loves to dip. What will your Granny say, Brock :)

Gates Barbecue in Kansas City

Here was another stop on our Food Network tour. This place was also featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Apparently Kansas City barbecue is famous for it's "burnt ends". They take the crispy ends of the brisket and chop them up in sauce. It was amazing. The restaurant was fun too. You order cafeteria style and then you take your tray to the dining room. We had a personal attendant help us order. We walked in and she said, "You're new, huh?" She made sure they took good care of us, checked on us throughout dinner, and even posed for a picture with us. Loved her!

Climbing Stairs in Missouri

Brock's cross-country trip mainly consisted of a lot of playgrounds. Here we are in Missouri anticipating our stay in Kansas City and hoping for some awesome barbecue. Brock did some impressive climbing here.

Mt. Rushmore

I am so glad we got to see this. It's one of those places I've always felt obligated as an American to visit, but I was never planning on making a special trip. Good that it worked out to be on our route :) It really is a sight to behold. Looking at Mt. Rushmore is the first time Brock said the word "Wow".

Battle Creek Campground

Here's a little pit stop in Wyoming. A perfect spot to stretch our legs, play, and have a family picnic :)
