Baby Weight

"They" say you should gain about 25-30 pounds when you're pregnant. I was doing pretty well up until the last month. That's when my doctor told me, "Don't worry if you don't gain any more weight from here on out...it's totally normal". Huh. That's funny. For some reason, the scale just kept going up at every appointment. Well, I've got some work to do, and now that it's no longer topping 100 degrees (we're in the low 90's now), it's perfect weather to get out and walk. Luckily, I have a little helper to add some resistance and increase our cuteness factor. He willingly wriggles into the baby pack and off we go. What a trooper :)

Whew, that was hard work!

I Can Roll Over Today!

Here we did it a little quicker so you can get the full effect :)

I Don't Like Tummy Time!

We're getting much better now, but up until the past day or so we did NOT like tummy time! But bless his heart, I made him do it anyway. Got to work on those core muscles, Babe.

Brock Holding His Lion

This is one of the first times he grabbed and held on to a toy. (Last week) This is really cute because the lion was given to us by our dear friend Donna, and it is wearing an outfit she made out of fabric from Brock's great great grandma Marcie's night gown.

Brock Batting at a Ball

No, not with a baseball bat, but with his hand. A milestone!! Go Baby :) Sorry for the sideways camera shot. We're new at this. This was a few weeks ago.

Baby Yoga?

There really is such a thing as baby yoga. You use your baby as a weight or something and then you can feel very hip and at one with the earth and say that you and your babes worked out together. (Not that I am endorsing being at one with the earth...I like yoga for exercise but not spirituality...we like being one with Jesus :) Well, we're not exactly doing baby yoga here, but my baby is using a yoga ball! Turns out he hates tummy time (more on this later), but he absolutely loves to be held up so he can practice standing. This love for "standing up" started several weeks ago and I find it kind of impressive for a kiddo his age--he's got his daddy's leg muscles :) Anyway, I read somewhere that you can lean them up against a beach ball to help them start balancing. Well, beach balls we do not have, but we do have two yoga balls, so I got the smaller one out and gave it a try. He seems to like it. Check out those quads!

Pack Up, Mama

Yesterday was a big day. My boys (I love saying that) helped me pack up my office where I will not be returning after maternity leave. I go back in a few days to sign paperwork and turn in keys, so I am not quite done, but loading all my personal belongings up on a cart and wheeling them out of that place was pretty significant. I loved my job. I love my boss. I love my Department. They have been so good to me for the last 9 years, but we are taking a step of faith and leaving it behind--trusting that God will provide for our family. I am so proud of my husband for leading us in this direction and thankful for the peace God is giving us. I have a new job now, and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world :)

And Baby Makes Three...

Oh Blog...it's been a while. To say I've missed you wouldn't really be true, but since I have a moment today, I am revisiting you and it feels...nice. My last post was the week after I found out I was pregnant, about the time the morning sickness set in. Needless to say, you've had to take a backseat for a while, but I know you understand. Now baby Brock is 11 weeks old, sleeping for reasonable stretches of time at night, and there are lots of friends and family on the west coast and elsewhere eager to see his cute little face...so here we are, Blog. Thank you for waiting so patiently.
